New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (October 19, 2021) informed that India recorded 13,058 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which was the lowest one-day increase in 231 days. The Ministry of Health also stated that the active caseload of the country has now declined to be the lowest in 227 days and currently stands at 1.83,118. The active case count accounts for less than 1% of the total cases and is currently at 0.54%.


The country also recorded 164 deaths related to Coronavirus and with this, the dead have increased to 4.52,454.
Kerala, however, continued to be the worst hit and reported 6,676 new infections and 60 deaths. The country currently has 83,184 active Coronavirus cases and among 14 districts, Ernakulam saw the highest number of cases with 1,199, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (869) and Kozhikode (761). At present there are 3,02,818 people under supervision in various districts, including 2,92,736 in the quarantine of the house or institutional and 10,082 in hospitals.

Meanwhile, 19,470 people also recovered in the last 24 hours throughout the country and took the total recovery to 3,34,58,801. India’s recovery rate has now increased to 98.14% and is currently at the highest peak since March 2020.


On the other hand, more than 87 doses of the lakh vaccine are given in the last 24 hours and the coverage of Covid-19 Indian vaccination has now passed 99 crores. This, according to the Ministry of Health, has been achieved through 97,44,653 sessions.
