Ponniyin Selvan: I

Ponniyin Selvan, which translates to son of Ponni, is a Tamil historical novel written by the great novelist Kalki Krishnakumar in the late 1950s. PS I, which is what it is called now, is an Indian Tamil language period action drama movie directed and co-produced by director Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions.  The adaptation of the novel was planned much earlier by the established actors and directors from the film fraternity, ever since the novel gained popularity. But unfortunately, this didn’t happen due to several reasons. Finally, Mani Ratnam, one of the most renowned directors of Indian Cinema, who had already mentioned it as his dream project, has now given it a shape and it is scheduled to hit theatres on  30 September 2022.
