As always, keep up with the daily new releases on our what’s new section and in addition, take a look at the full list of September 2019 releases too.
We’ll run through some highlights now before diving into the full list of what’s releasing this week.
Dave Chappelle is back for his third outing on Netflix keeping his crown as the king of standup on Netflix.
This special is getting controversial as Dave tackles gun culture, opioids and celebrity scandals.
Netflix Release Date: Tuesday, August 27th
NBC’s hit comedy from Michael Shur is finally returning to Netflix for its third season shortly before season 4 begins airing in September (releasing weekly in some regions).
Season 3 saw the four subjects fight to prove they’re capable of living in The Good Place. Of course, there’s plenty of twists and turns along the way.
If you’re not fangirling about The Dark Crystal series coming to Netflix on Friday, frankly, you’re dead inside. One of our most anticipated Netflix Originals of all time arrives on Friday.
The puppet orientated title with an obscene amount of love and detail going into the series is to be commended.
It’s a prequel series to the original movie that remains to stream on Netflix globally.
Netflix Release Date: Sunday, September 1st
Frankly, we don’t need to sing the praises of The Lord of the Rings trilogy as it really does sell itself. The perfectly aged second and third entry of the trilogy find their way onto Netflix on Sunday along with the other big September 1st movie additions.
Enjoy these titles as it’s unlikely that Lord of the Rings will return in the future given they’ve been earmarked for HBO Max next year.
Netflix Release Date: Sunday, September 1st
In a return to form for the AMC show comes the ninth season entry for The Walking Dead.
Based on the comics of the same name, we follow Rick Grimes as he battles the hordes of undead and the remaining humans. This season sees the biggest changes to date with lots of cast members now moving onto other projects.
